Welcome to the School of Communication and the Arts, located in the Center for Communication and the Arts building.  The school is part of the College of Humanities, Social Sciences and Education (CHESS).

The School of Communication and the Arts is designed to prepare students to become accomplished communicators in a variety of professions. Students in the school engage in comprehensive, multidisciplinary education in human communication studies, media production, advertising, journalism, and the performing arts.

As a student in the School of Communication and the Arts, you will become exposed to many experiences that offer hands on learning opportunities. You may choose to:

• Write for our award-winning student newspaper, The 名媛直播 Knight
• Perform in a theater production
• Perform on-air with WERG, 名媛直播's student-run radio station, that won "best student radio station in the nation in 2014"
• Travel abroad with faculty to numerous countries including the Fringe Festival in Edinburgh, Scotland, with our Theatre department
• Script, shoot and edit video and graphics for local organizations or in house projects

Our location in downtown Erie provides convenient internships possibilities in a variety of local businesses and organizations including:

The Center for Communication and the Arts is home to programs, organizations and amenities that serve the students and the Erie community. These include:

• A state-of-the art Media Center and Multimedia Studio
• Television and Audio Production complex
• Multipurpose art studio
• Modern classrooms and student lounges for studying and socializing
• A large music and movement space that is home to the GU Student Concert Band as well as dance and theater classes
• Schuster Art Gallery
• Gannon University Archeological Museum
