Wet (Research) Lab
The wet lab in CLEER provides authorized personnel a specialized facility for conducting aquatic research within a controlled laboratory environment, enabling detailed study of water quality and ecosystem dynamics. The lab also provides a direct pathway for samples collected on Presque Isle Bay and Lake Erie to be processed and stored in a timely fashion.
This lab includes:
- Separate key-card entrance
- Two separate integrated culture module, rack-mounted aquaria systems
- One aquaria system has 10-4.75 gallon and 10-6.75 gallon tanks for a total capacity of 162 gallons
- Second aquaria system has 8-4.75 gallon and 8-6.75 gallon tanks for a total capacity of 139 gallons
- Each aquaria system includes continuous water quality monitoring, as well as diurnal lighting controls
- Make-Up Water Storage System for continuous supply of freshwater
- Floor drains
