Young Writers Camp (9- to 12-year-olds) 
Designed as a writing workshop, this week-long intensive writing camp will introduce young writers to the techniques of composing fiction, poetry, journalistic content, social media content, and other fun stuff. 名媛直播 Faculty and writing professionals will help students explore the valuable skills of reading, listening, and speaking.

Teen Writers Camp (13- to 18-year-olds)
In this week-long intensive writing camp, students will explore a variety of creative and professional writing genres. High school juniors and seniors will leave with a draft of college or scholarship application essays. 

Dates: Aug 3-7, 2026
Age groups: 9 to 13, 14 to 18
Time: 9 am to 3 pm (Monday - Thursday) and 9 am to 12 pm (Friday)

Scholarship Opportunity

At Writers’ Summer Camp at 名媛直播, we believe that giving every child an opportunity to be a part of the summer camp helps them develop friendships, hones their confidence and ability to express themselves, and enhance their academic excellence. This is why, we award a limited number of need-based summer camp scholarships to cover the cost of camp registration partially or fully. Campers are still responsible for the cost of travel and lodging.

REGULATIONS:

  • Visit our for more information on the application process.
  • A student can submit only one application for scholarship.
  • There must still be spots open for the camp.
  • Scholarship applications must be submitted by June 30. Decisions will be communicated to you via email by July 7. All students must register for the camp by July 21.
  • Completing an application does not guarantee scholarship assistance.
  • Email Dr. Shreelina Ghosh (ghosh002@gannon.edu) for information on possible on campus housing, early drop offs, and late pick ups.

Important Information

Young Writers Camp attendees must arrive at Kelly Conference Room, third floor, Palumbo Academic Center, Gannon University, at 8:30 a.m. on August 4 to check-in and receive a Welcome Packet. Workshop activities will begin at 9 a.m. The following days will include a full daily schedule of group workshops, individual conferences, fiction, poetry and creative nonfiction performances, outdoor sessions, and appearances by guest writers. A Friday Public Reading will close the Young Writers Camp on Friday, the last day of the program. Camp attendees will present their work. Family and friends are welcome to attend the reading.

Camp activities are held in classrooms of Palumbo Academic Center, Gannon University.

What to Bring

  • Snacks, drinks

  • Writing folder/tablet, pens, pencils
  • Laptop (optional)

Students may have access to their cell phones with the exception of the following times: classroom and instruction sessions, group work, and speaker presentations, at which time cell phones must be put in silent mode or turned off.
