The Doctor of Physical Therapy Program at Gannon University offers a limited number of graduate assistantship opportunities to qualified students. Graduate assistantships provide students with meaningful professional experiences that complement the DPT curriculum and foster the development of skills that support success in clinical practice and future professional roles.
Assistantship opportunities vary from year to year based on program needs. Graduate assistants receive a partial tuition remission and a stipend in accordance with University policies.
Applicants must be admitted to the Doctor of Physical Therapy program and demonstrate strong academic performance, professionalism, communication skills, and the ability to work collaboratively. Additional qualifications may be required depending on the responsibilities of individual assistantship positions.
Graduate assistant responsibilities vary by position and are designed to provide opportunities for professional growth while supporting the mission and operations of the Doctor of Physical Therapy Program. Responsibilities may include academic, administrative, operational, research, student support, community engagement, or other program-related activities.
Assistantship experiences are intentionally designed, as appropriate, to foster the development of competencies aligned with the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Career Readiness Competencies. Graduate assistants receive partial tuition remission for eligible semesters, as determined by the University, along with a stipend paid in accordance with University policies and student employment guidelines.
