The theme of the CHESS Speaker Series is inspired by philosopher Immanuel Kant’s call to “sapere aude,” which translates to “dare to know.”

“The theme ‘Dare to Know’ challenges us to think critically, listen deeply and engage courageously with perspectives different from our own,” said Lori Lindley, Ph.D., dean of Gannon University’s College of Humanities, Education and Social Sciences. “Through performances like ‘We Continue’ and ‘Carved in Memory’, we are invited to encounter stories and cultural expressions that expand our understanding of human experience. These events embody the very heart of the CHESS Speaker Series, and foster curiosity, empathy and dialogue across communities.”

The Global Summit XVII presented by the Jefferson Educational Society is also a part of 名媛直播’s CHESS Speaker Series. The Global Summit XVII brings celebrated experts from around the world to Erie, Pa. to speak on a broad range of globally important issues, and 名媛直播 is proud to partner with the Jefferson Educational Society to host this programming.
